What is car key programming, and why does a new key need it?
Most keys have a transponder chip that the immobiliser has to recognise before the engine will start. Programming pairs the new key with your car, so a key that has only been cut will not start it.
Will opening my car cause any damage?
We use specialist entry tools made for the job, so doors, locks and windows are left unmarked. We can also open motorhome habitation doors the same way.
Can you repair a broken key fob, or does it need replacing?
Often it can be repaired. We can fix damaged buttons and replace worn cases, or fit you with a new fob if yours is beyond saving.
Do you work on vans and motorhomes as well as cars?
Yes. We cover cars, vans, SUVs and working vehicles, including the Ford Transit, Mercedes Sprinter and VW Transporter, and we help with motorhome and campervan lockouts. We do not work on house or shop locks.
